Fourth Grade Exposition

The fourth graders performed a selection of songs around the theme of "Anishinaabe - The First People".
They sang...
Sky Dances - Jimmy Durham
Kasilyio - Lueseno Lullaby
           With Recorders!
First Americans and So Proud - Barbara Speicher

Recorders!

This year the fourth graders will begin to learn how to play a woodwind instrument called a recorder!  They will also have an opportunity to purchase their own recorder!

They will be participating in "Recorder Karate" which is a system of song tests that when they play, for example Hot Cross Buns, for me they will earn their White Belt.  The belts are pieces of string that they tie onto the end of their recorders.  The system goes all the way through Black Belt (and beyond!).  They will use these recorders throughout their time here at the elementary school!
